Effective 21 August 2026
Layn provides freight-native accounts payable software. This policy explains what we collect through trylayn.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
It covers this website only. It does not cover the Layn application, which is governed by the agreement we sign with each customer.
When you request early access. Our early-access form asks for your full name, work email address, and company. You choose whether to give us these, and there is no way to submit the form without them.
When you visit the site. Where analytics are enabled, we collect standard usage data: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, referring site, device type, and browser. We use this in aggregate to understand which parts of the site people read. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
We do not collect payment details through this website, and we do not ask for freight data, invoices, or contracts through it.
We use the details you submit through the early-access form to contact you about a Layn pilot, to answer your enquiry, and to keep a record of who has asked to speak with us. We do not use them for anything else, and we do not send unrelated marketing.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, our lawful basis for handling early-access enquiries is legitimate interest: you have approached us about a commercial product, and replying is what you asked us to do. For analytics cookies, our basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
We use Google as a service provider:
Google processes this data on our instructions. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or to establish or defend legal claims.
If Layn is acquired by or merges with another company, information held about early-access enquiries may transfer as part of that transaction.
We operate from the United States, and the Google services we use may process and store data on servers in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal data out of the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards our service providers have in place for those transfers, including standard contractual clauses.
We keep early-access enquiries for as long as we are in contact with you about a pilot, and for up to twenty-four months after our last contact. After that we delete them. If you ask us to delete your details sooner, we will.
Where analytics are enabled, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish one visit from another. These are the only cookies this site sets. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
You can block or clear cookies through your browser settings. The site works normally without them.
You can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. You can also ask us to stop using it, or object to our use of it.
If you are in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, you additionally have the right to receive your information in a portable format, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@trylayn.com. We will respond within thirty days.
Early-access submissions travel over an encrypted connection and are stored in access-controlled Google accounts limited to the people at Layn who need them. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of information we collect deliberately small.
This is a website for a business product. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If the change is significant and we hold your contact details, we will tell you directly.
Questions about this policy, or about the information we hold, go to info@trylayn.com.
